Thoughts On Transitions

April 5th, 2009

4 Years Of Blogging!

This is what happens whenever I go to the Philippines for a vacation... my blog'niversary entry always get delayed. These entries are usually the most tedious to compose but I enjoy doing it plus it gives me the chance to reread and relive my experiences of the blog year that just passed.

Behind the scenes of doing the Thoughts On Transitions pictorial for the Dressing Up For Below Zero Temperature entry. Evan wanted to be in on the action too.

Well that year was pretty much about losing: losing weight, losing my job and NOT losing the election.

Last year I achieved my target weight loss goal of 20 pounds as related in The Skinny On Dieting, losing it long enough to qualify for the lifetime membership for Weight Watchers in Staying An After, yet continued dealing with the challenges of keeping the weight off as was written in My Thin Life. My quest for a healthier body has rekindled my love for running. I have mulled over the idea of taking up running as a regular workout in Running Thoughts On Running and even ran a relay race in My First Marathon.

I will be always a mom and majority of my posts still talk about my son and motherhood. I have brought up issues of other parents who might be Down On Daycare and why my experience was nothing but positive, of the rare Battle Of Meals I had with my two year old, how I shockingly found out that sugar is not the only cause for Tots and Tooth Decay, amused at the americanism my toddler came up with in Your Child Is An American When... and payed tribute to the kind of True Love only parents would know.

5 Years in the U.S. I still do not tire of writing about my american experiences, I did a little venting in the Locker Room Gripes , about the unfortunate encounter with a parking lot monster aka Parkzilla, about getting my first traffic citation for being Bad Geraldine. 5 winters I think I have adjusted to the cold considerably thanks to knowing how to Dress Up In Below Zero Temp. Knowing how to Dress Up My Toddler For Cold Play also helped preventing the dreaded cabin fever too since there is really no need to trap ourselves indoors for the 6 months of winter. I still wish we only have 3 months less of it though.

For last year I also had 3 firsts in my american experience, having my first American Christmas where I didn't feel homesick, my first in getting laid off after being given Two Weeks Notice and the unforgettable first time for me to cast a vote in the The Obama Effect.

The highlight for the blog year that was? I had 2. Of course my trip to Hellloooo California, getting to visit my brother in his home and being with his family (we are definitely going back next year for a longer visit!) and, of course, my trip to Hellooo Philippines.

It was an exciting blog year as usual. As always.
